But at Made in America we’re keeping things close to home as we feature a special selection of craft distilleries and their liquors that are made right here in the good old US of A. Join us for this special event to sample whiskeys, gins, rums, vodkas and other spirits that represent the best of American craftsmanship as we salute the spirits that make our country so flavorful.

Made right here in the soul of America, Bayou Rum is celebrating Louisiana culture again at TOTC!  Louisiana is an eclectic mix of culture with its jazz, Cajun cuisine, and lively energy flowing through our people’s veins and the ubiquitous bayous of the land.  This year we’re back featuring a new expression of Bayou Rum and celebrating our beloved Louisiana sugarcane culture!

Handcrafted right here in Louisiana from raw unrefined Louisiana sugar and fresh Louisiana molasses, Bayou Rum has been growing since TOTC 2013.   Meet the Bayou Rum Distillery Dynamic Duo of Master Distiller Jeff Murphy and Master Blender Reiniel Vicente.  These gurus have landed 64 awards in international tasting competitions and they are excited to meet bartenders and cocktail aficionados to share some of the inspirations for the great taste profiles of Bayou Rum.

There is a special orange citrus tree grown in South Louisiana called the Satsuma.  Small, seedless, and sweet, Louisiana Satsumas are a favorite down on the bayou!  The juice is sweet and the color is intensely clear orange with a refreshing taste.  We are proud to feature Bayou Satsuma Rum Liqueur, a delicious handcrafted specialty perfect for refreshing summer cocktails as a cocktail modifier or on its own.

Taste the freshly delicious award-winning original pot distilled classic Bayou Silver Rum suitable for sipping, and its best-in-class Bayou Spiced Rum cousin loved by American Craft Distilling Association, American Distilling Institute, Rum Renaissance Festival and many others!  You will also touch, smell, and see what we consider to be the finest raw materials available from M.A. Patout & Sons – the oldest continuously operating sugar mill in the USA since 1829.  And finally, sample our first harvested batch 1501 of Bayou Select Rum from the bourbon barrels aging over the last 3 years in the south Louisiana heat!  The craft of rum making is alive and well in the USA.

With five days of events from morning till night, your Tales schedule can get a little busy. The Daiquiri Time Out was started just for times like these. Founded by Andrew Deitz as a way to remind us to slow down when life gets hectic, the Daiquiri Time Out is a growing cocktail trend to savor the moment with a perfectly crafted daiquiri.   Our DTO invites everyone to take it easy for an hour or so as a team of bartenders from around the world serves their own take on traditional, frozen, Hemingway and all kinds of other daiquiris featuring the world’s best rums. Be a part of this special event to enjoy some R&R and the best collection of daiquiris you’ll ever taste.

With the help of a delicious creation from L’Auberge Resort’s Cocktail Creator extraordinaire Kelly Bistok, you will enjoy the best daiquiri of the day at the Bayou Rum table.  Kelly has crafted a cucumber infused simple syrup for this unique taste profile meant to enhance the classic daiquiri and maintain its integrity.  Come get you some, Bayou Rum!

Bayou Rum is handmade in the largest privately-owned rum distillery in the USA, utilizing traditional methods with state-of-the-art equipment for all four steps: fermentation, distillation, maturation, and bottling. The beautiful facility right down the road in Lacassine, Louisiana offers distillery tours 5 days a week, a Bayou Rum tasting bar and an incomparable gift shop experience for those who visit the home of Bayou Rum.
